Michael J. Carrasquillo (Born in Bronx, New York, June 5, 1977), is an American musician and was the core live
touring drummer for the techno/industrial band Slick Idiot. He is a multi-talented artist, photographer, filmmaker, drummer, producer & remixer; some credits include Slick Idiot, Chemlab, Celldweller and Die Symphony. He had also been in and out of the music business for over 15 years, working for record companies (TVT, WEA, INTERSCOPE, GiG Records) doing local, regional and national marketing as well as managing local and regional recording artists in Baltimore and DC. Michael was also responsible for securing television sync licensing deals and a coveted opening slot for the east coast leg of the ‘98 Goo Goo Dolls tour for one of his artists.
In 2005, putting music and touring on hold, he took a hobby and turned it into a professional freelance video editor/filmmaker career. Working with the acclaimed music video director, Jim Swaffield, Michael assisted in the production and organization of the two time Grammy nominated “Trapped in the Closet” video series, the LIVE “Light It Up Tour” DVD by R. Kelly, Ciara: “The Videos & More” DVD, and the upcoming Bowling For Soup/NASCAR unnamed DVD.
Currently Michael is working on his solo album titled, “Scene Full of Invisibles” under the name iSOL8ED, completing his Bachelor’s Degree in film production at Brooklyn College, re-developing his video podcast, “The Trials of Being Mike,” talking at various podcasting (and video podcasting) events and writing for Dad-O-Matic.com.
